Český Krumlov State Castle and Chateau - the most important and most visited monument in Český Krumlov. The rocky hill where they built the castle has been inhabited since the Bronze Age. The original Gothic castle was founded by the lords of Krumlov in the middle of the 13th century. Over the centuries, the castle changed not only its appearance, but also its owners. The lords from Krumlov, the Rožmberks, probably the most famous owner, Emperor Rudolf II (who had his left-hand man imprisoned here in house arrest), then the Eggenbergs and finally the Schwarzenbergs took turns here.

Currently, you can view authentically furnished interiors from the 16th, 18th and 19th centuries, the Castle Museum exhibition and the castle tower with an observation deck, from where there is an amazing view of the city and the castle.
A visit to the oldest baroque theatre in the world is an unforgettable experience. On a separate tour, you can see the auditorium and the technical space under the stage. It is played here only exceptionally.
Not only children will look forward to the bears in the castle moat.
Český Krumlov Castle is an important monument not only in the Czech Republic, but also in the whole of Europe. Thanks to its history, architecture and art collections, it is an unforgettable experience for all visitors to the city.
In addition, the castle also has extensive gardens open to the public. You can get here from the main part of the castle via the Cloak Bridge. This unique baroque-technical monument dates from the 18th century. The bridge is over 40 meters high, 80 meters long and 6.5 meters wide. When you cross it from the 4th to the 5th courtyard, you will enjoy wonderful views of the river and the city.

Castle gardens – picturesque gardens offering visitors beautiful walks. Various cultural events and festivals are held here. You can park your car and bus at the side entrances to the gardens. Roughly in the middle of the gardens, you can see the unique revolving auditorium, which can accommodate up to 644 visitors. From June to September, you can see a drama, musical or ballet here.

Český Krumlov monasteries – Minorite and Poor Clare monasteries founded in the 14th century by Rožmberk. After the abolition of the orders, the complex served as a dormitory, school, warehouse, etc. In the last decade, it underwent revitalization and renovation, and now a cultural and educational center operates here, which brings visitors closer to monastic life, culture, history and art of the given period. Very interesting are the craft workshops, where children can try the work of saddlers, blacksmiths, glassmakers or dyers.

The historic center of the city – around náměstí Svornosti you can wander through the winding streets and enjoy the almost medieval atmosphere. Of the monuments, it is definitely worth visiting the town hall, the plague column or the stone fountain. If you go up the hill from the square, you will reach the church of St. Vitus.

Church of St. Vitus - an important church monument built in the Gothic style. The right bank of the river is dominated by the castle tower, and the left by the church tower. Here you can find, for example, the Rosenberg Mausoleum.

Graphite mine - on the western edge of Krumlov you will find a graphite mine. During an interesting tour (with special clothes and a mine lamp), you will ride the mine train that the miners used to ride on their shift. You will experience how they worked in the mine and learn more about graphite and its use.
