Practical tips for visiting Český Krumlov

If you are going to Český Krumlov in the summer, book your accommodation well in advance, especially if there is a festival taking place in your chosen period. The Krumlov Music Festival usually runs from mid-July to the beginning of August, the Festival of the Five-leafed Rose one weekend in mid-June. At the end of September, you can enjoy the St. Wenceslas festivities here.

But Krumlov has a lot to offer even in winter. A romantic walk through snowy Krumlov is definitely worth it. Most accommodation facilities and restaurants are open all year round and you will not encounter hordes of tourists everywhere. If you are a fan of winter sports, you can go skiing in the Lipno ski area, 30 km away. If a smaller hill is enough for you, you can already stop in Frymburk (about 20 km from Krumlov) and ski there. In Frymburk you can also rent all the equipment for winter fun.

In the summer, don't forget your swimsuit – not only paddlers on canoes and rafts, but also children on inflatable mattresses descend the Vltava river in Krumlov, and if you have active offspring, they will definitely want to join in. If you are more of a passive lover of water sports, you will definitely enjoy watching the boaters from the bridge - a third of them will tip over at the nearby weir ;).

Parking - those who come to Krumlov by car will certainly be interested in the parking options. Český Krumlov offers several parking lots. The largest of them, Jelenka, is located 500 m from the city center and can accommodate around 200 cars. The exit and entrance to the parking lot is from Chvalšinská street. You will find a charging station for electric cars here as well. If you arrive by caravan, look for parking P7 near the swimming pool. Entrance and exit also from Chvalsinská street, but further from the center.
